Meow,Dad said I had to put my paws to paper. He says it's been a while but, meow, what's time to a cat except something to play with?
Things have changed and I am not sure of their meaning. Mom and Dad used to be gone all day allowing me to sleep undisturbed. Meow, then Mom started keeping close to the den moving things around and disturbing my sleep. Then Dad began to stay home making all manners of racket to where I had to find another place to get some rest. I just know something is in the wind.

Meow, we are back. We went to the place the den does not move and the lights flow by. MEOOW, I could watch those for hours. I had to wake Mom up this morning. Humans certainly can be dense at times, how she could not hear the trickle of water I’ll never know. I had to jump on her and shout several times befor she woke up and took notice.
As Bosun I have many responsibilities and, meow, one of my favorite sleeping spots was getting wet.

Meow, I know something is definitely going on. Dad has ruined one of my favorite sleeping places with some big metal thing and they are getting up very early every morning and making all sorts of racket during the day forcing me to find other accomodations. I like things to be ,meow, the same and they are moving everything around.
May 26, 2007 Day 1
Meeow, I was right. Dad woke the Rumble Monster this morning(Dad calls it the engine). It always wakes when he whistles to it. I hate the monster. We are “going to sea” Dad says. Who cares, yeooowl, I am sicker than a dog. My only consolation is that Dad is too. Would everyone just leave me alone. (insert Dracula Drool)
May 27, 2007 Day 2
Mom opened a can of tuna just for me, meow, my favorite, and I was able to drink some of the juice. I was not up to leaving my resting place so Mom held the cup for me while I drank. Meow, a cat could get used to this kind of service.
May 28, 2007 Day 3
Meow, just shoot me. Easier to remain in one place and stay put. Mom has tried to get me to come out but I’m much happier where I am. It’s hard not to stop complaining, so I don’t.
May 29, 2007 Day 4
Mom opened another can of tuna for me she says I had to get up if I want it. Guess I’ll just have force myself, meow, a cat must have some dignity after all. I am feeling more like myself but it is fun having Mom make a fuss over me. At least I look better than Dad who is lying on the floor in my favorite spot. Strange, he has never done that before.
May 31, 2007 Day 6
Feeling like a new cat. I even made the time to inspect some line Dad brought out and set on my favorite sleeping spot. It needed a few adjustments, of course, but passed inspection.
June 1, 2007 Day 7
Poked my head out last night while Mom was outside. “On Watch” she calls it. Didn’t look to exciting to me so I didn’t stay long. Dad was asleep on the floor and his tummy is a very comfortable spot to snooze.
June 2, 2007 Day 8
Mom put my bowl back in its proper place on the step this morning. I had a quick bite then retired to my new favorite spot on the sailbags up forward.
June 4, 2007 Day 10
Sat on Mom’s lap this morning in the cockpit and watched the sun come up. Meow, pretty
June 5, Day 11
Dad called out the Rumble Monster. I hate that thing so I found a great spot to hide. It has been so nice and quiet, why does he have to do that?Poked my head out and talked with Mom for a while tonight in the cockpit. Dad is still sleeping in my favorite spot.
June 8, 2007 Day 14
I’ve got Mom’s “Watch” schedule down and wait for her at the bottom of the steps ’till she comes below so I can curl up on her lap. I try talking to Dad constantly but he still sleeps in my favorite spot and won’t answer me. Maybe if I talk LOUDER he will listen.
June 9, 2007 Day 15
I just love to help Mom make the bed. It is getting so cold at night and When we are done she lets me snuggle in.
June 28, 2007 Day 34
Meow, it is cold. Dad likes it when I sleep in his lap to help keep him warm but I wish he would stop putting his cold hands on my belly and saying “nice pelt”.
June 29, 2007 Day 35
Sharing Mom’s lap while she is off watch. Mrrrow, it is cold. Mom and Dad have been spending more time inside.
June 30, 2007 Day 36
We don’t seem to be going anywhere today. Mom and Dad have been down below all day cleaning our den and resting, my favorite thing to do. Of course they didn’t need any help with the cleaning but I felt it necessary to supervise at least
July 2, 2007 Day 38
Mom says the barometer dropped 5 points so I thought I’d do some research. Yeow, this doesn’t look promising, I think it’s time for a nap.
July 5, 2007 Day 41
The sun came out today but it is still cold. Mom and Dad keep getting up every two hours and disturbing my sleep. Dad keeps asking when I’m going to take my turn but I have no clue what he is talking about.
July 9, 2007 Day 45
It is getting colder still, I poked my head outside this morning and saw only white. Meow, how is a cat to sleep with such a cold nose.
July 14, 2007 Day 50
Its been raining all day. Nothing to do but sleep and Meow,I don’t like to be disturbed, thank you. By the way, are we there yet?
July 16, 2007 Day 52
Nothing for me to do but laze around.
July 20, 2007
After hours and hours of the Rumble Monster yesterday we finally stopped moving. Hey, wait a minute, this isn’t home!
July 22, 2007
You wouldn’t believe the size of the birds they have here!
